He embarked on a film career with great ambitions and found considerable fame for his comedic performances. He earned further acclaim for his portrayal of the famous Batman from Tim Burton's Batman. As a mature actor, the actor also began to explore into producing and directing. The year 2014 saw his appearance as Birdman was rewarded with numerous awards and nods.
